Straight White Lines are one of the few fruits of my weekend's search for unsigned bands, and they were worth the looking. According to their Myspace, the band was "born out of the darkness of a power outage in the mountains near Guatemala City." They play Americana twinged folk, with influences from 90's alternative. The combo works well for them, and their singer has a very compelling voice, I'd suggest you check them out. If you're in the midwest/south, they may be coming near you pretty soon, so take a look at their tour dates.
